Quotable
At a glance
- Mainnet launched 21 April 2026 — no premine, no ICO, no founder allocation, no venture round.
- CPU and GPU mineable. The reference node ships both a CPU miner and a CUDA GPU miner for NVIDIA cards.
- Mining algorithm: MLRTHash v1 — double SHA-3-256 over a 96-byte block header.
- SHA-3 was chosen because it shares no design DNA with SHA-2 and is the NIST primitive family selected for FIPS 205 post-quantum signatures.
- 21,000,000 MLRT maximum supply, 50 MLRT block reward, halving every 210,000 blocks, 120-second target block time.
- Post-quantum signature path: SLH-DSA-128f-SHAKE-256 via Malairte Improvement Proposal 1 (MLIP-1), targeting Q4 2026 testnet and 2027 mainnet activation.
- Open source under Apache 2.0. Reference implementation in Go.
- Registered in the European Union (Republic of Ireland).

Malairte Bitcoin (MLRT) is a fair-launched, CPU and GPU mineable proof-of-work cryptocurrency built on double SHA-3-256. Open source under Apache 2.0, no premine, no ICO, no venture funding. Mainnet launched 21 April 2026.
Malairte Bitcoin (MLRT) is an independent layer-1 proof-of-work cryptocurrency designed to keep mining accessible to ordinary participants. Its hashing algorithm, MLRTHash v1, is double SHA-3-256 over a 96-byte block header — the same NIST-standardised primitive family chosen for FIPS 205 post-quantum signatures. Block reward is 50 MLRT, halving every 210,000 blocks, with a 120-second target block time and an asymptotic maximum supply of 21,000,000 MLRT. The chain launched fair on 21 April 2026 — no premine, no ICO, no founder allocation, no venture round. Open source under Apache 2.0.
Malairte Bitcoin (MLRT) is an independent layer-1 proof-of-work cryptocurrency. The reference node, CLI wallet, and CUDA GPU miner are implemented from scratch in Go and released under the Apache 2.0 licence at github.com/computervirtualservices/malairte. The mining algorithm is MLRTHash v1 — double SHA-3-256 over a 96-byte block header. SHA-3 is structurally immune to length-extension attacks, shares no design DNA with SHA-2, and is the same NIST-standardised primitive family chosen for FIPS 205 post-quantum signatures. A 256-bit hash retains roughly 128 bits of post-quantum security against Grover's algorithm, giving the chain a coherent hash-based cryptographic foundation. The chain launched fair on 21 April 2026 — no premine, no ICO, no founder allocation, no venture round. Every MLRT in existence has been mined under identical consensus rules since block 0. A small, fully disclosable 10-atom-per-block-and-per-transaction protocol fee, enforced by every node, funds ongoing development on-chain. Block reward is 50 MLRT, halving every 210,000 blocks (~1 year at the 120-second target block time), with an asymptotic maximum supply of 21,000,000 MLRT. The chain is CPU and GPU mineable; mining a single block requires only a laptop, a desktop, or a small rig with a single consumer NVIDIA GPU. There are no ASICs and no industrial scale required. The Malairte project is registered in the European Union (Republic of Ireland) and is led by an open team of contributors. Post-quantum signatures via SLH-DSA-128f-SHAKE-256 (FIPS 205) are on the roadmap as MLIP-1, with a public testnet phase scheduled for Q4 2026 ahead of mainnet activation in 2027.
